| June Bird is the daughter of Ada Bird Petyarre and
Tommy Bird Mpetyane. Living in the Utopia Region of Central Australia, June’s art style of
painting reflects the strong influence from her mother who is also a
well known Utopia artist and
painter.
In 1978, she commenced working on and producing batiks. In
1988 during the CAAMA’s Summer Project, June started painting on canvas.
Having had a number of exhibitions, some of her early work is part of the
prestigious Robert Homes à Court Collection, Perth. Her works can be
viewed in the following collections:
